You may choose adult dogs for sale or a puppy may be found at kennels in many states.
The males are 55-80 pounds and the females are 45-70 pounds. Shoulder height for males is 24-27 inches; females are 23-26 inches. The coat of the hounds is long and needs frequent cleaning and bathing at least once a week. Regular brushing maintains the gloss.

Life span of these hounds is up to 17 years. The coat of the breed is rather long and needs frequent cleaning and bathing at least once a week to maintain the gloss.
