Brittany puppies can be obtained through rescues but aren't commonly found in a rescue situation.
Called also Epangneul Bretons, these dogs first appeared in France from the crossing of the Setter and an unspecified French breed. Breeders stressed the hunting qualities and achieved much success as the breed became of the most popular hunting breeds.

It is the smallest member of the pointing group that excels in pointing and retrieving, and makes a good field trial competitor. As pets, they are inquisitive and playful showing much affection and intelligence. A yard is best for them as they have high exercise needs.
