Boxer Kennels

Contact a few boxer kennels and ask the breeder for a photo and information on the breed. These are muscular, short-coated, square-headed dogs with tight skin and a docked tail. Some of the characteristic physical features of these dogs are the broad nose, pushed-in top of the muzzle, and muscular body. They have a shiny, close-fitting coat, which comes in fawn, brindle, white and various shades of red, with white markings. The ears may be cropped. The tail of the dog is usually docked. Nowadays, more and more owners prefer natural looks and neither crop the ears nor dock the tail of these dogs. Contact a few boxer kennels and ask the breeder for a photo and information on the breed.

The breed was derived from mastiff-type dogs that were used as hunting dogs in the Middle Ages in Germany. The ancestors of the breed were small hunting dogs with a strong grip and a very courageous and alert nature. They could hold on boar or bear pending the hunter’s arrival. Also, these dogs were used to control bulls, guard the farms and protect the owner. Nowadays, the descendants of these ferocious hunters and utility dogs have a lively, curious, affectionate, and faithful nature and absolutely lack aggression. They are very protective and can be quite reliable with children. Contact a few boxer kennels and ask the breeder for a photo and information on the breed.
