The dog’s body is rather compact and powerful. These dogs have a shiny, close-fitting coat, which comes in fawn, brindle, white and various shades of red, with white markings. Ear cropping is optional. The tail is usually docked. These dogs possess a happy, high-spirited, playful, curious and energetic temperament. They are smart, eager and rather quick to learn. These are muscular, short-coated, square-headed canines. Males stand 22.5-25 inches at the withers and weigh about 70 pounds. Females are a bit smaller at 21-23.5 inches and about 60 pounds.
