Needy dogs may require some extra grooming and training, not to mention patience, love and plenty of attention on the adoptive family’s part. If you are not sure that you will be able to dedicate most of your time to the pet and be responsible for its welfare, reconsider adopting. Adopting a homeless animal is a way out for people who cannot afford a purebred animal. It’s quite possible to adopt a purebred puppy by paying a small adoption fee. Not all dogs in need have problems with health or temperament, because many of them are surrendered through no fault of their own, but because their owners were not responsible enough.
