These are not outdoor dogs, because with their short coat they cannot stand fluctuations of temperature and humidity. They should not be left outdoors for long, if the weather is hot or cold. Living in an apartment and having daily walks with much mental and physical stimulation is ideal for them. Being very active, these dogs make perfect playing companions for children. If the owner cannot provide the pet with enough exercise and training, it may become disobedient, aggressive and lazy. These dogs are easy-keepers. Occasional brushing, bathing and rubdown are enough to keep their coat shiny. Carolina boxer rescue educates breeders and shares information with other rescues.
