The black bear is a good target for photo as a hobby and is frequently found close to farms.
The scientific name of this species is Ursus Americanus; the fossil records indicate that they evolved from dog-like animals. Several million years ago these animals had a long tail, but then it became useless and remains only about 4 inches long.

These animals are forest dwellers and can be found in every forest type from sea level to 10,000 feet in elevation. They can also be found in the swamplands, scrublands and frozen tundra regions. They are highly territorial and males have home ranges of 10-80 square miles. The black bear is a good target for photo as a hobby and is frequently found close to farms.
