Birman Catteries

Birman catteries typically display photos of their more prominent kittens. Once regarded as a sacred to the Burmese, this breed is a descendant from the small French feline populations. Endangered during World War II with only one pair of them surviving, the French breeders developed the breed from near extinction, thus, it is considered French. Birman catteries typically display photos of their more prominent kittens.

To save and develop the breed, other longhaired and shorthaired breeds were bred to those who remained. The first type of this breed came to the United States in 1959. The “Fancier’s Association” in 1967 officially recognized the breed. Birman catteries typically display photos of their more prominent kittens.
