Bengal Tiger Photos
Bengal tiger photos of the babies look different than a picture of a fully-grown one.
The known number of these animals is terrifying. The population of these wild cats has suffered a serious decline in the last 50 years. There are still 200 cats of this type in Nepal and possibly 4000 in India. Nowadays these animals are listed by USFWS as endangered and are under protection of CITES. There were about 40,000 wild species at the beginning of the 20th century. Needless to say, we will lose one of the most beautiful gifts of Mother Nature in the foreseeable future if we maintain the status quo for another couple of decades. There were 8 subspecies in the early 1900s, and three of them became extinct by the middle of the last century.

Bengal Tiger Photos -
babies, picture
For a long period of time these large felines were killed by human for sport, fur, and traditional medical products. Different superstitions have followed them for centuries. For instance, in Malaysia necklets of claws are thought to protect a child from "the evil eye" and whiskers have been considered a dreadful poison. Their body parts are used in Asian folk medicines, and their pelts are a popular decoration among nobilities. Despite efforts taken by the Indian government, at least one wild animal gets killed every day. Considering this animal’s low reproductive rate, the number of killed animals may exceed the number of newborn kittens, and if we would like to save the species we cannot do without breeding captive animals.
