The gestation period of females lasts 3.5 months. The majority of cubs are born between February and May. A tigress usually gives birth to 1-4 cubs. The cubs’ weight is up to 3 pounds. They are born stripped. Newborn cubs are blind and helpless and require constant protection. By age of 6 weeks they start taking meat, and by age of 6 months they start hunting.
