Endangered Bengal Tiger
An endangered bengal tiger baby is protected in most parts of the world; babies are the key to preserving the species.
These are large, striped cats from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Burma. In the wild they occupy a great variety of habitat, from rainforests to swamps. They live about 15 years in the wild, but can live much longer in captivity. These wild cats feed on medium-sized and large animals, such as deer, antelopes, buffalo, small elephants, wild pigs, gaur and domestic cattle. Sometimes, they hunt smaller game, such as birds, lizards, snakes, frogs and fish. Old and ill species can become man-eaters.

These wild cats are solitary animals, but sometimes they travel in small groups consisting of three or four individuals. All these animals are in danger now. They are likely to become extinct and need to be protected. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were 100,000 species all in all and 40,000 representatives of this particular subspecies. There were eight subspecies: the Siberian, Indo-Chinese, Chinese, Sumatran, Bali, Caspian, Javan and the one being described. The Caspian, Javan and Bali became extinct in the first half of the 20th century.
