Like all felines, these creatures are pure carnivores and specialize on big game, such as buffalo, deer, antelope, pig and even young elephant. They are able to eat about 90 lbs of meat at a time. If the food is scarce, they may raid domestic stock and even become man-eaters. However, these animals rarely attack humans and usually prefer to keep clear of them. In areas where food is scarce, these felines are more likely to pick on a human.
