This breed is currently accepted by the majority of associations: AACE, ACF, ACFA, TICA, and UFO; only CFA hasn’t registered these animals. Originally, the breed was created to preserve the exotic look of the Asian Leopard cat and transmit its immunity to domestic breeds.

The Asian Leopard was bred to the American Shorthair. Today, wild Snow Leopards and Marble cats can be mixed with the Siamese and some other domestic breeds.
