Running free in an enclosed yard is a good exercise for these dogs. A regular walk on the lead is also essential. These hounds are good natured dogs, and generally get along well with other dogs. Besides being great scenting hounds, they make very good watchdogs as well, but cannot be used as guardians or personal protectors. These hounds are famous for their hunting voice, and strong hunting instincts.
