Also called English Beagle.
In appearance, it is a short-haired, small to medium size scent hound. Its sleek coat is easy to groom, though the dogs do shed, particularly in the spring. Long, pending ears, and large eyes make them look very charming. This breed is easy to keep, as the grooming requirements are minimal. Occasional baths and brushing are enough to keep the coat clean. Like with all dogs, this breed needs regular nail clipping, ear cleaning and vet checks. As for hereditary disorders, if you buy from a reliable breeder, the chances that you'll get a healthy pet are very high.
