Beagle Sounds

Get information on beagle sounds, training, and view a photo of the breed. Belonging to the group of hounds, these sturdy little dogs are considered one of the smallest hunting breeds. As the history goes, the Roman times are sometimes called the period when the breed was developed. The dogs were specially bred to kill the rabbit and hare. These active hounds do require a great deal of vigorous exercise. They have a strong hunting instinct, and should not be let off lead. It is in the dog’s nature to take and follow the scent. Therefore, training can be a challenge. It is a good idea to use the dog’s hunting instincts at field trials. Some owners say there is a problem of excessive barking in the breed. It is a part of their hunting nature as well. Get information on beagle sounds, training, and view a photo of the breed.

Also called English Beagle.

This breed is not yappy, but will bark and growl when strange people come in their territory. Their alertness makes these hounds good watch dogs, but they are not protective and will most likely play with an intruder. When catching a scent of something, these hounds make a noise called baying. Some hounds don’t understand the idea of keeping quiet, but those bought from reputable and ethical breeders are easy to train. Get information on beagle sounds, training, and view a photo of the breed.
