The ancestry of this ancient breed is lost in time. This is one of the oldest and smallest Hounds. Excellent hunters and trackers, they are still used according to their primary purpose. However, nowadays, these dogs are more popular as family pets. If the owners cannot find a proper method of training the dog or have no time to spend with the dog, it may become too vocal or destructive. Being very intelligent, these dogs don’t respond to drill, but variable and interesting exercises are very effective with them.

The dogs have an appearance of a small foxhound. Their hallmarks are large, sad eyes, long skull, and droop, moderately long ears.
