The breed is also called the Karabash. In appearance and temperament, it is similar to the Great Pyrenees and the Kuvasz. Its most distinctive physical characteristics are the large, well-proportioned head, the rectangular muzzle, the wide skull, the triangular, pendant ears, and the small, deep-set eyes.
