This organization is also instrumental in arranging rodeo and barrel-racing competitions.

This breed is characterized by a strong, well-muscled body, a small, short, refined head with a straight profile, a broad chest and powerful, rounded hindquarters. The average height of these animals is from 14 to 16 hands. Halter type animals may reach up to 17 hands. The main body types within the breed are: the stock type and the hunter or racing type. Animals of the stock type are short, well-muscled and compact. They have very powerful hindquarters. Halter type belongs to the stock type; such animals are very large and heavily muscled.
