There were two different types of the dogs that differ by weight after the WW I in the USA; the smaller type was more favored. This type was more elegant. Later these two types compete and were shown together until 1936 when the English type received a status of variety.

In the 1960’s the smaller type was extremely popular in England and gained the popularity as a show dog. An active and compact dog shows itself as very energetic and very fast runner.
