The development of the breed took place in Great Britain and the name of the breed refers to the robust look of a little bull, as well as to the power with which this dog attacked bulls in arena combat in the past.

These dogs are not very active and don’t need much exercise, but they are not for any family. This breed has specific care requirements and special training. Some animals created by man cannot keep themselves fit; they need to be forced outdoors for a short walk daily. It’s very important not to overfeed these dogs, as obesity is dangerous for their heart and joints. Some dogs of this breed are quite lively and playful and like running and playing outdoors, but the majority of them are very dignified and steady.
