Lipizzan horses have muscular and powerful bodies. Foals are born black or bay and they gradually turn white by the time they reach 6-8 years old. Slow maturing, they are not fully-grown in size until they are seven years old, and achieve full puberty by age of 10 years.

They are renowned for their beauty and nobility, as well as courage, strength, docility and strong will. These horses are not very tall, maximum height not exceeding 16 hh.
