The airedale terrier today can be obtained through either breeders or rescue organizations.
Used as working dogs and hunting dogs, they were crossbred with other hunting dogs in an effort to develop a dog that could out maneuver another man’s dog yet be taught to hunt otters. Other uses were as retrievers and as military dogs to transport the injured.
